Elevated Access is a not for profit organization launched here in

Champaign Urbana in 2022 in response to the extreme health care bans being enacted in some state legislatures. Since that time, Elevated Access has logged over one million miles on both private and commercial flights providing transportation and hope to individuals needing abortion and gender-affirming healthcare.

Since its inception, over 1600 pilots have expressed interest in participating and their network of thoroughly vetted volunteer pilots has grown to over 400. They have flown 1400 flights for passengers needing healthcare. In doing so, they carefully coordinate with known trusted organizational partners.

For those with little choice except to seek healthcare services away from home, that can mean days of travel, time and wages lost from work, time away from families where they are the primary caregiver, and other significant financial investments. Elevated Access eases the burden and provides transportation to life-saving healthcare. It allows individuals to have the authority to decide what is necessary for their own body.

Elevated Access is a shining example of an organization that shares and puts into action UU principles of inherent worth and dignity ofevery person, the right of conscience, and justice, equity, and compassion. In this time, the needs are great and unlikely to diminish.
